Standards and Essential Questions for the Week of December 10-14, 2007

These are the standards that we have planned for the week. The state department is asking us to post the standards in our classrooms. Our essential questions and lessons have to match the standards. I know that I have too many this week, but I am experimenting with this new format. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

Reading- What are non-fiction text conventions? What are conclusions? How can I practice fluency? What are idioms?
{LA.3.ELA3R1.c} Reads third-grade text at a target rate of 120 words correct per minute.
{LA.3.ELA3R2.d} Identifies the meaning of common idioms and figurative phrases, and incorporates them into oral and written language.
{LA.3.ELA3R3.h} Interprets information from illustrations, diagrams, charts, graphs, and graphic organizers.
{LA.3.ELA3R3.o} Uses titles, table of contents, and chapter headings to locate information quickly and accurately and to preview text.

Math- What is geometry?
